Two Weeks In

We are two weeks into our homeschool year. We pretty much go year round taking breaks whenever we feel like it, but we like to start back with a loose routine and celebrate the end of one year and the start of another. Kids and I talked about their goals for the year, what they are interested in, and how we want our days to go.

Most days we do reading, writing, and math in the mornings- mixed in with lots of play and toddler distractions- finger knitting, clay building, art, outside play, etc. Around lunch time we do some history or science, watch a documentary, nature journal, read…

Then we’ve been heading to the pool for a few hours and loving having the place to ourselves. Back home for clean up- laundry- dishes- and an hour of independent screen time for each of them before dinner/ soccer.

I feel like we have really found a groove this year. The days are long and we are together EVERY minute- but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m so privileged to be able to share in this learning life with them.
